T-bone accidents are often catastrophic. If you have been in a one, call a TX lawyer who knows how to get results.
There is no type of car accident that is a “good” car accident; all car accidents have the potential to be serious, leading to catastrophic injuries or death. With that in mind, some types of accidents are statistically more deadly and dangerous than others, and T-bone crashes are one such type. At the Law Office of Raul A. Guajardo, P.LL.C., our T-bone crash accident lawyers can help you if you have been in a crash. Please call our car accident lawyers directly today to learn more.
A T-Bone Crash: The Details
A T-bone crash refers to an accident in which the vehicles collide in a T-like shape, with the front-end of one vehicle slamming into the side of another. T-bone crashes are most common at intersections, and often happen as a result of one driver making a left-hand turn while another driver is traveling straight through the intersection. These accidents can also occur when drivers traveling in adjacent directions (i.e. one driver is traveling north and another driver is traveling east) both assume that they have the right-of-way in an intersection, leading to a crash.
Injuries and Damages
A T-bone crash can lead to serious injuries for both parties involved in the crash — the driver of the car that is impacted on the side and the driver of the vehicle that is impacted head-on. Injuries may be severe if not fatal, and could include traumatic brain injuries, back and spine injuries, internal injuries, bone fractures, and more. Psychological injuries are also possible in the aftermath of a crash, and a crash and injuries will also lead to severe economic losses for the victims.
Determining Fault for a T-bone Accident
Fault in a T-bone accident is not always immediately apparent; instead, an investigation must be opened that seeks to determine how the accident occurred and who is to blame for any injuries that have resulted. Typically, T-bone accidents happen as a result of negligence. Examples of negligence that can lead to T-bone crashes include:
- Driving while drunk;
- Driving while distracted;
- Speeding;
- Running a red light or stop sign;
- Failing to yield; and
- Driving aggressively.
If you have been involved in a T-bone accident, our lawyers can open an investigation into your claim to determine how the accident occurred. If we find evidence of the other driver’s negligence, we will use this to build your case, hold the driver (or their insurer) liable for your harm, and advocate for a fair settlement amount.
